At its simplest, a query can be just a word or a phrase. But with the tips on this page, you can expand the focus of your search to give you more complete results.

Using Boolean Operators

You can refine your search by creating a relationship between search terms using the following operators: AND, OR, AND NOT, and NEAR. When using operators, the Boolean phrase option MUST be selected in the Search Type field.

Performing a search using the NEAR operator is similar to performing a search using the AND operator, all articles containing the words client and manager will be listed. However, the articles will be ranked in order of the proximity of the words. The closer the words are to each other, the higher the rank.

Exclude certain text

All articles containing the word statement but not report.

One word or another
